Portland Event

Are you or a loved one facing a cancer diagnosis or treatment?

The Cancer Community Center in South Portland is the place to start when you don’t know where to begin. Their free services help those living with cancer to build social and emotional support as a complement to regular medical care. We are pleased to welcome Jani Darak-Druck of the CCC for two informational sessions about the Center, on August 14 at 4p.m. and August 21st at 10:30 a.m. for our Portland patients only.

Jani Darak-Druck, M.A., M.Div., has been the Manager of Volunteer Services at the Cancer Community Center since 2006.  An ordained minister in the United Methodist Church, she served as a parish minister for 18 years before moving to Maine in 2005.  In September, 2010, Jani was diagnosed with Acute Myelogenous Leukemia and underwent a stem cell transplant in December of that year.  Now, focusing on survivorship in her own life, she continues to be a resource for many CCC participants affected by cancer.
