Northeast Patients Group is now
Wellness Connection of Maine
Dispensaries/wellness centers set to open in three additional locations
With plans to open three dispensary locations in addition to its current operation in Thomaston, the Northeast Patients Group is announcing a new name for the organization. The medical marijuana dispensary and wellness center will now officially be known as Wellness Connection of Maine (WCM). The organization’s new website is: www.mainewellness.org
WCM plans to open additional sites in Brewer, Hallowell and Portland in the coming weeks.
“We feel the new name better reflects our identity as a Maine-based non-profit organization that prioritizes the individual needs of our clients and offers an array of wellness-related services designed to help our chronically or severely ill patients live the highest quality of life possible,” WCM Executive Director Rebecca DeKeuster said. “In addition to providing medication, our plan is to offer patients a variety of services and educational opportunities to enhance their total health and well-being.”
“This is a Maine organization serving the people of Maine, and we believe our name should reflect that fact,” WCM board member Paul Sevigny said. “We will continue to serve our individual patients with wellness programs tailored to their specific needs with the goal of improving their quality of life. Our hope is that people will immediately recognize the relationship between our new name and our mission.”
DeKeuster emphasized that the organization’s mission and goals have not changed. “The mission of the Wellness Connection of Maine will remain the same: to provide qualified Maine patients with high-quality medical marijuana at a reasonable rate, to support the individual patient with a full spectrum of wellness options, and to continually seek to advance understanding about the use of medical marijuana in Maine,” she added.
WCM will continue to be a responsible and active member of the communities it serves, she said. “All the services we provide are fully licensed, legal and transparent,” according to DeKeuster. “We operate under the laws of the state of Maine and will continue to abide by the strict standards established by the Maine Department of Health and Human Services.”
